During our textile journey to the region of Wollo in Ethiopia, we learned the pattern of the gabi, or blanket, we were searching for is called the ‘Sindid’. Sindid is a type of bead, and the name describes the tiny stitching pattern used to create the signature colorful arrows on the Wollo gabi. For this pillow we distilled the Sindid arrow pattern into a minimal design, maintaining the colorful arrows. Understated but still with a hint of fun, it captures the essence of the traditional Wollo Textile.
