Admas Collection
One of the recurring memories I have of my childhood in Ethiopia is peering out at the mountainous horizons surrounding Addis Ababa. I was still very young when my family moved briefly to Montreal, and upon seeing those hazy blue Canadian mountainscapes in the distance I thought for sure Ethiopia was not too far away.
The Admas Collection is inspired by the magical landscapes of my homeland. The peaks, basins and plateaus of the Great Rift Valley are transposed onto our handwoven textiles in colorways that mirror the breathtaking range of earthen and celestial hues.
Admas means ‘horizon’ in Amharic. For me it’s the place where the heavens, earth and memory all converge. I hope this new collection is our most memorable yet.
