In creating the two collections for Bolé Road Textiles, I wanted one to be bold and colorful (the Indigenous Blooms Collection) and one that would be elegant and timeless which is how the Modern Classics collection came about.
The designs are simple, modern with a high contrast palette of gray, black and natural. A few pieces have elements of Ethiopian motifs incorporated into them.
The names of the pillows in the collection are all in Amharic. The names show ‘respect for the past while looking forward to the future’. Take a peek at the meaning behind the names and try your hand at Ethiopia’s main language!
